Correspondence and other papers (chiefly 1856-1898), many relating to the Groh family. The collection illustrates Groh's ideas on reform movements after the Civil War, and includes discussions of post-war trade in the South, politics and government in the post-war period, opposition to the tariff, criticisms of religion and temperance, the single tax movement, opposition to President Johnson's policies, and the election of 1884 with emphasis on James G. Blaine.
